An easy-to-make torte that's perfect for summertime Tiki parties.

Easy Hawaiian Torte

• 1/2 cup butter
• 1 egg
• 1 teaspoon soda
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 1/2 cups flour
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon salt

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and beat well. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to sugar mixture, with pineapple and vanilla. Turn into a well greased 9'' square baking pan. Combine 1/2 cup shredded coconut, 1/2 cup brown sugar. Sprinkle on top of batter. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes.
